National and International Recognition

In 2011 and 2012, Leanne was listed in ‘Best Lawyers in Australia’ in the Australian Financial Review’s survey and she has also been listed among the ‘top 20’ leading Australian practitioners in this field in Australian Legal Business.  Other examples of the recognition given by international and national publications to our firm and individual lawyers, based on client and peer surveys, are highlighted in the right sidebar of this site.

Leanne has been recognised in each of the four editions of Chambers Global Environment (2008-10), the first two editions of Chambers Asia-Pacific (2011 and 2012) and each of the four Environment Handbook editions of PLC Global Counsel (2008-11).

Client survey comments noted in Chambers Global have included ‘clearly an expert in the field’ (2010), ‘advice is very comprehensive – strategic and detailed’, and ‘just brilliantly easy to work with’ (2008).   Chambers Asia-Pacific 2012 says that Leanne ‘attracts exceptionally high praise from her clients, who offer such observations as: “She is very logical and thorough. If there is a sticking point, she will work with us for solutions immediately, saving us time.”   Noted for her accessibility and direct but unaggressive manner.’

Publications & Development

Examples of our externally published papers are available at Other Publications.

Leanne Bowie is currently chair of the Queensland Law Society’s Planning and Environment Committee and all of our senior lawyers are actively involved in a range of peak industry organisations, which helps us to remain at the ‘cutting edge’.  Leanne has also previously lectured the environmental law component of both undergraduate and postgraduate mining and petroleum law subjects with the University of Queensland.
